OFFSIDE is a sport photography agency, founded by photographer Mark Leech, winner of the prestigious Barclays Photographer 20 Seasons award and bonafide master of his field. Mark commissioned Grammar to create a unified identity and tone of voice for his company across all of their output.
A large part of our work on the rebrand was to bring typography and written content to their output, giving the team at OFFSIDE the tools to tell the stories behind their incredible archive of photos.
Using our inspiration from newspaper headlines and handmade signs seen on the terraces, we created a clear, confident and flexible typographic system that complements the images in the brand’s archive, spanning over 100 years.

As well as the new company strapline, ON TOP OF OUR GAME, we also created a flexible system of language that utilises the strapline in two parts – ‘On top of…’, and, ‘…our game’ – which can change to suit different environments, situations, sports, and incorporate a range of sentiments. In situations where Offside needs to inform readers of their product, we also wrote a selection of more direct, B2B messaging that can accompany the strapline, or work stand-alone.
Whether Offside are creating content for their own platforms, or through third-party channels, they now have the communication devices to keep their brand top of mind with industry and sports fans.
