Issue two of Mundial Magazine was released to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the most memorable and timeless events in football history, Italia '90. Still as relevant in football culture today as it was 25 years ago, its legacy speaks to every new generation of fans.
Our team approached this issue with the aim of telling new stories and giving new insights, rather than re-hashing tales of Gazza's tears, sky-high penalties, mullets, and other English, heart-break clichés.
As well as the full design and direction of the magazine, Grammar's lead-designer Adam Gill was also given the task of compiling a memorabilia article to shed some nostalgic light on those Coca-Cola and Panini-branded 'knick-knacks' from the corner shop we remember so fondly.
Also, in this issue we spoke to the unlikely Italia '90 heroes Salvatore 'Toto' Schillaci and Steve Bull, had style features with Umbro and Nike, trips down and Italian memory lane with Trainers author Neal Heard, explored an illustrated guide to the competition stadiums, and also introduced our first female cover-star, striker Toni Duggan.
